thursday 24082006

I decided to shave before taking today's portrait. Thus the blotchy skin. It would probably help if I were to invest in some shaving cream, instead of using shampoo (even if it is a lovely organic shampoo). The ridiculous thing is that I actually have to push myself to have a shave. But yesterday when I decide I'm going to cover my head with flour and paint, I do so without hesitation. Don't ask me why, though I suspect it has something to do with having an affinity with chaos and a slight aversion to things associated with order. Meanwhile, on tuesday I bought a small blue brush specifically for the portraits. I thought it would make a really great mouthpiece when I saw it in the shop. But I tried it out yesterday and today in front of the mirror and so far it hasn't looked good at all. So if I never ever use it, at least now it has had a mention as part of the process. Then again I could use it as an actual brush to scrub the flour and paint out of the bath.
