wednesday 25102006

today is one of those days when my camera batteries suddenly announce mid-session that they need a 12 hour recharge. so i have to make a decision out of the shots i've taken so far.

(and then my cordless keyboard batteries also ran out before I could finish typing this. Fortunately I already had 4 of those charging up) .........the big shiney screws are currently performing the function of holding up this big polka dot canvas that i found in the street the other day.

Nice find russell. I know you did not create the canvas but i wonder what the creator was thinking when they made that. The two polka dots near your right ear are very similar hues. As are the red and pinks which are also adjacent. I think the work experience kiddie must have made this. no wonder it was discarded.

Good news about shiney. I hope the experiences of rejection give him something to draw upon in his future appearances. Does that mean we are down to three or are we still looking for 4. With all the colour that has suddenly swamped your blogworld and in the spirit or helping our poor entrepeneurs as we get closer to december i think todays entrants are Donner, Blitzer, Dancer Prancer.
russell higgs: i'm hoping the polka dot canvas was made by an individual. but i have a niggling suspicion that its probably something that ikea sells. whatever its origin, i find that i currently enjoy having it in my flat, and i think i like it as a portrait backdrop too. its still empty enough and neutral enough i think, isn't it?

so does this mean that screw 2.0 (all 4 of them) will from now on be full-time working screws giving permanent support to the polka dots?

so far the only reason the polka dots might not live on that wall is that they might be a bit in the way of people coming in and out of the front door (which is further along to the right of the picture)

Something quite Sphynx like about you today Russell!

I must say that I like the backdrop but I hope that there isn't a revolt among your props as the screws find themselves userped by this johnny come lately from the planet Polka!

You will have to monitor this situation.
I hope those towels aren't holding your head together Russell? What sort of PDA do you take your photos with? I love the polkadots!
russell higgs: i just use a little polaroid pdc5070

i think the polka dots are here to stay, at least for a while.

russell i agree about the backdrop not being too overstated. should go with your blue and fluoro yellow wigs nicely. if i were the screws i would be setting up a picket line and making sure these dots aren't scabs.
