some new video clips.... http://www.youtube.com/russellhiggs

in Footpath 3, Sergio is Talking about Clouds.

in Footpath 4 we go for a Walk through the Woods.
London can be such a lush green city at times.

and in Windows 4 we're down the Holloway road, where there's a prison van assigned for horses......
perhaps it should be accompanyed by Michael Martin Murphey's Wildfire.
(see also Phil Collins' "They Shoot Horses", young Palestinians in a disco dance marathon)

meanwhile, in these portraits this past month or so, I'd mostly been paying attention to the light here around 6-7pm. But these past few days I've become aware of the light around 12 hours earlier, around 7 am. I hadn't realised before just how much light comes through the room to my right and into the hall where I shoot my daily portraits.

Damn it! YouTube is still under Thai Government ban for allowing a few vids of material seen as derogatory in regard to the King of Thailand.

You do get some interesting lighting effects from time2time, Russell, and I have remarked previously on the effectiveness of some of the side-lighting.

Also, I would like you to know how much I appreciate your apparently child-like inquisitiveness with almost everything. Occasionally, reading your threads takes me to places I have not been before; it demonstrates your better-than-average understanding of the power of the web.

Thank you.
russell higgs: Thanks Ray

can you view embedded videos that are sourced from YouTube but are embedded in a seperate blog or whatever?
the Gorilla head in the shadow brings to mind this Great APE from Dec 2005....

russell higgs: meanwhile, what with Ray mentioning the King of Thailand (in the context of YouTube and Thai censorship) in his comment above this one.....

and previous to the Flying Ant Queen orgasm all over London on Tuesday (see yesterday's entry)......

I had another meeting with the British Queen in a dream. I'll convert it into a new upload for the Archbishop Russell Higgs strips. But until then, heres a previous moment spent hanging out with her maj ......

This is a very, very interesting series but I do have a comment to make. This is worthy of better treatment. I would like to see the arms both by the side and I know that that means setting up a timer or getting another to take them. I would keep the concept and style just how it is but the image could do with being really sharp - it cries out for quality. Give great consideration to the lighting. I apologise if this sounds really critical but that is only because this is one of the best series I have seen for some time and I think it needs pushing to a more presentational standard. Regards, chad
russell higgs: thanks. I appreciate your feedback Chad.

in many ways the "photographer" component of this daily project is not among my top priorities. but inevitably I am also experiencing a gradual learning curve re picture taking, however i'm not in any hurry. I think its more important that i'm just enjoying myself for now.
